Hello From The Bay!

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Ours was great! We're totally fans of California--- if you didn't already know that from all the other times I gushed about all the good things in California ;)

The weather is always up and down over here. Super warm in San Jose. Super cold in San Francisco. And hit or miss everywhere else. Miss Marlowe is such a florida girl-- even the slightest *chilly* breeze comes through and you can find her shivering. My poor tropical girl. With the exception of our sunday adventures, our LA trip was a bit more delicious than this Bay area trip. But we still have a few more days in the Bay, so we'll see how the rest of our food journey goes.

We found ourselves at Pride Fest in SF on saturday. Marlowe LOVED it. She had such a blast and collected a bunch of rainbow vegan stickers from different veg booths. And then we got ourselves some mexican chocolate ice-cream. It was SO good!

We spent sunday in Berkley-- I got to meet up with three friends (you know, other than Nicolle who we're staying with). Two friends from back home (who moved out here a few years ago). And Raha who I met through my India trip. I love being able to meet up with people I love while I'm far away from home.

Also, I decided to book a hotel room on a whim --- so we're taking a road trip down south tuesday and wednesday. Adventure adventure. We don't really know what we're doing or where we're going, but we have a hotel room in San Luis Obispo, haha.

I've also started searching for places to stay in Guatemala-- because (also on a whim yesterday) I decided to book a trip with my friend Celia to Antigua (she took these super fun family photos)!! I've been wanting to go SO BAD. I brought it up to Celia a few months ago and then she texted me about it yesterday and I was like "YES. BOOKING TONIGHT." I'm so excited. We're also bringing our kiddos with us. It's going to be amazinggggg. I can't wait to bring M, I think she'll love it and do really well there. She travels SO well. I'm always so impressed with her. We're going everywhere this summer, eeeee. I feel like I'm making up for last years summer, ya know? I was stuck in bed for SO LONG. I got out of the house maybe five times?! It was miserable, but not this summer :)  Watch out world, I'm coming for you.

Also, speaking of travel, I'm sitting here on Nicolle's couch, and I keep taking a break to chat with everyone and I just realized I actually fly back saturday, not thursday, haha oops. I'm usually on top of my calendar game-- but not this time. Oh well. I should probably hit the hay--- I'm still working on that *self care while on vacation* thing. I still like to go go go, but I need to learn to break more while I'm away and not just at home. Maybe now that I'm staying a few more days (or just realizing that I am), I can plan a bit more down time :)

I hope you guys had a good weekend and have an even better week ahead!

Sharing more pictures soon :) Happy tuesday, friends!

  2. I don't know if the timing will work out for you, but seriously the SLO farmers market is the best I've ever been to and I live in Portland and am something of a market freak. It's a night market and they block off a whole are of the downtown. Look into it, it won't disappoint!
