An Outdoorsy Day In Miami {Earth N Us}

I'm making to do lists again around here. I've got a good and happy list going of things I need to get to--- house things, blog things, cookbook things, new things, sharing photos from india things--- still. I've liked my time to relax with friends, eat out often (no real cooking for me with one hand), and celebrating life with a cocktail in hand moments, but I also like my time for lists, prioritizing, and planning too.

I'm buying tickets soon to spend some time in Massachusetts this summer, maybe a roadtrip to Montreal. Another ocean getaway and hopefully California to see friends too. You know--- exciting plans. Summer is our time for that. The slow heat of summer and off-season is our getaway time. Lately though, the weather has been pretty amazing around these parts and I've enjoyed our time around here. Grateful for our own garden and space and grateful to have so much lush tropical time right outside our front door.

loofa!

In our time in Miami last week (or is it already two weeks now?!) we opted for a garden day after our beach day. An easy picnic and a stroll around a local urban farm stay (definitely added them on my local staycation wishlist!). I feel better after days like these. Better in my time outside. Better inside and out with the sunshine and humid air on me-- covered in lemongrass of course too. It's been my scent of choice lately, I live in it. I like to think it not only keeps the bugs away, but also brings me comfort. Happy comfort.

I still have exciting news to share, but in the meantime, I hope you guys all had an amazing Easter, Passover, and just generally carefree weekend!

  8. My friend knows the guy who owns this urban farm and I visited it a few times during my time in Miami last summer, it's especially fun on Sundays when they hold volleyball games in the yard. Such an inspirational space. And of course we loved feeding the goats :)

  9. I'm obsessed with this post and even stole (borrowed?) a few of the pictures to use as desktop pictures. Makes dreary Indiana look a little prettier :)
