I wish there was more to write home about. It's quiet over here--- kind of. The house is usually filled with screaming, running children (Marlowe included), but once they nap, or our door is closed, it's quiet. Marlowe and I wake up, spend a few minutes in bed, brush our teeth and head upstairs. We eat breakfast, take a stroll or walk down to the beach, and prepare and eat lunch. Marlowe naps, I cook, we head outside or lounge around, I cook some more, dinner time, and we retire to our bedroom for quiet time. In fact, other than our quick walks or beach time, we haven't really left the house. We took one quick drive with Maryam a few days ago, ate some treats at a roadside farm, and headed back. It was our only small, sugary and delicious adventure. The island is small, one hour from end to end. It's different for us, to be so far from home, surrounded by so many new things, and unable to just pick up, explore, and go. I know there are many tourists, locals, visitors, and explorers out here, but what I can hear is the breeze, tropical birds, and the cars driving back and forth on the road. I look forward to the end of Marlowe's nap, when we can see how far our tiny feet can take us.

  3. It must be strange being in a new place with new people and a new way of life. I think you're very brave. And it's great that you are giving Marlowe the opportunity to live a free and versatile life from a young age, I think it will really shape her in the long run. Stay positive :-)

  5. Where exactly are you? I've vacationed pretty extensively on 4 Hawaiian islands so I know my way around. I bet you're feeling the opposite of anxiety right now, right? LOVE.
